Dr. Khanna is a dual fellowship trained lower extremity arthroplasty surgeon. He completed his medical school at Dalhousie University and residency training at McMaster University. He then completed an Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction fellowship at the University of Ottawa followed by an additional Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Toronto, Mount Sinai campus. He recently completed his Master in Health Administration from the University of Regina.

His current orthopaedic practice includes primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty as well as single limb trauma. He has a special interest in computer and robotic assisted surgery for alignment correction procedures around the hip and knee, as well as for partial and total knee replacement.

His research interests include assessing the impact of technology such as navigation, robotics and virtual reality on surgical outcomes and training. He also has an interest in researching patient factors that impact outcomes after total joint replacement.

He is currently the Program Director for the McMaster Orthopedic Residency Training Program.

Dr. Kishta completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Mansoura University in 1997. He went on to pursue pediatric surgery fellowships at the University of Western Ontario from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, Dr. Kishta completed a Doctorate program in Orthopaedic Surgery with PhD Thesis in Proximal Femoral varus Osteotomy in Perthes’ disease.

His current practice includes pediatric trauma, pediatric foot and ankle surgery, pediatric spine surgery, and limb deformity correction. His current research interests include bone disease, pediatric spine, and clubfoot deformities.

Along with being an active member of national and international pediatric orthopedic surgery organizations, Dr. Kishta continues to contribute to MacOrtho’s growing program through research, mentorship, and leadership initiatives. His previous work with the resident mentorship & CBD programs, and ongoing work with resident education is commendable.

He is currently the Associate Program Director for the McMaster Residency Training Program, Head of Orthopaedics at McMaster University Medical Centre and the Fellowship Program Director for Pediatric Orthopaedics.

Paulette is the program’s Senior Education Program Associate and essentially the key point person for the program. She has been with the orthopedic program for almost five years and has been a Program Associate in the Department of Surgery for the last 14 years. Paulette brings strong communication and organization skills to the team and is always someone we can count on! Residents and faculty are grateful for all she does!
